My Birthday Festivities

So on Saturday, we did a lot of celebrating. The mr. and I went on a hike in the Boise foothills then we went to the mall to find me new running shoes. We got home and the kids and mr. prepared a delicious birthday feast! I am going to record the menu because they worked so hard i want to remember it!
Menu:
Homemade fried chicken strips (he used to make these when we were dating)
corn on the cob
mashed potatoes
gravy
blanched broccoli (the broccoli was special I will explain why in a little bit)
Cake

My kids picked out several gifts for me too. After Mitchell talked them out of getting me a lightning McQueen toy car. (apparently that was quite the job). He asked them to think of things mommy liked, and they came up with some very creative gifts. Gift one  : a head of broccoli. Gift two: a pack of gum.  And the other big gift: Apple Juice. Apparently when he asked E what things mommy liked he thought for a min and then said "brown juice!" then he said "wait noooo mommy likes brown tea; nooo apple tea; wait APPLE CIDER!" and so they bought me some nice quality yummy apple juice ad they also through similar trains of thought got me the broccoli and the gum. I will not forget either that they also got me one of those shower lufas- blue! Love it!
After gifts and cake we all watched a movie together and ate treats lots of treats!

Sunday was my actual birthday. We slept in- i made a yummy breakfast (the Mr. had made breakfast the day before) we listened to conference talks and took a nap before getting ready for church. After church my grandparents and aunt and her kids came to my parents and we celebrated over there. We had yummy meal, roast potatoes, fruit salad, my dads famous homemade rolls, cheese cake and a yummy pudding pie desserts. and My mom spelled out my name in jello jigglers just like she used to do! You rock mom!

I got some lovely cards and treats. I also got some very sweet phone calls from some dear relatives! Made my day! Thank you everyone! It was an amazing weekend I felt so spoiled and loved. I feel blessed to be in this family and to have such wonderful family and friends who love me though all my goofiness, bad days and flaws.
