babysitting and other fun things

This last week seemed like a long one, but it was a wonderful one.  Eli and I spent a lot of time playing with friends. We played at the park with James and his mom, always fun. For two days we babysat Macy, who is cousin Conner’s 9 year old aunt. WE definitely played hard. Eli loved to have her over all day and cried when she went home. He is one social kid!

On Thursday Eli and I drew a picture and took it to our friend who had to have surgery. I had not pulled out the crayons in a while but wow Eli loves them. So many colors to play with and things to draw on.

Mitchell and I were able to go on a date mini golfing which was a blast, it was so nice to go out and do something like that together, we also went to the cheap theater and ice cream (that was a different day though) which was fun. We had gone to the movies pretty recently because Mitchell had gotten free tickets from his work but the last movies we saw where both guy movies so I dragged him to a chick flick. He sat through it like a champ, he is so good at putting up with my girl things!

On saturday we went to the famers market and had a lttle BBQ and water games afternoon at my parents house with my brothers. The afternoon was cut short because poor Eli did not feel well. He was fine the next day, but the last few nights the poor boy has been up with a stuffy nose. Last night he slept through most of the night which was a great blessing, but today he has a yucky sounding cough, so in to the doctors we will go.

I also have a doc appointment today. The nasty blood glucose tests where they make you drink that disgusting syrup and sit around for an hour.  Wish me luck, I will certainly be working hard to think positively. I am one of those strange people who loves the dentist but hates going to the doctors. Not sure why, i think its because after a dentist apointment you feel good your mouth is clean and there is a plan to fix any problems. But its not that way with the doctor, you go in there to feel awkward and hopefully you can leave with out haveing to come back for "tests". I had gestational diabities with my first pregnancy so hopefully this time I won’t have a problem!

Here are some cute pictures of my brothers in Eli’s Kidde pool and a few fun pictures of Eli being adorable! Note: I had to beg to have my brothers let me take a picture of them in the pool. They are troopers!

A long week and fathers day

This last week seemed very long, Eli is getting in his big I teeth they seem to be really mean the poor boy did not sleep well at nights at all. I made sure to get up with him as fast as I could so that Mitchell would not be disturbed. We did well even though I was really tired during the days and because Eli was over tired he was having trouble with his naps, so I kept us out as much as I could. We had several play dates and we went to the park and on long walks every day.
Wednesday night was awful I don’t know how many times he woke up but it was at least 7 or 8 I counted to that point and then just stayed in his room. I was so tired on Thursday I planned a play date and made lunch hoping that he would take a long nap but someone choose that day to do some construction work on the fence 15 feet from his window, so no nap. I was so emotional, I was crying from being over tired, I was so grateful to my family we walked over there and my brothers played with Eli while I rested on the couch then Eli and I went home in time to make a yummy dinner for Mitchell. He is so sweet he knew I was having a hard day so be brought me home flowers! My favorite variety and in my favorite color! I love him. I was so glad I had tried to go the extra mile that day and not just throw my hands in the air and give up.  There is something so much better about pushing through the hard parts and being rewarded then just getting the reward. It’s a little bit like the view from the top of a high mountain you hiked verses driving to the top and looking, it’s so much better because the effort it took to climb it.
We went to the green belt this week and Eli had fun wearing daddy’s shoes and playing with his new pin wheel. Fathers day was great but I dropped the ball and did not take pictures! Gasp! Eli made a special foot print we framed and got daddy a new pillow I got him men in black and a wii game with lots of candy and a card. We love Him so much he is such a great father and husband he never complains when he is tired and always wants to make sure we feel loved and cared for. How grateful we are for Him and what a righteous Priesthood holder he is. We had a lesion about families for FHE last night and  while preparing for it I found a Fathers day type message on lds.org that had memories different apostles had of their fathers. I am glad that I was raised by a wonderful and righteous father!

Staying here in Nampa!

This last week was a fun one. Mitchell had a job interview last week,  and on Wednesday he got a phone call from Columbia high school here in Nampa offering him the job! The next mornig Mitchell called back to accept the position. We are so excited and I am so proud of him for working so hard and getting a good job! What a wonderful man he is!  We are excited to be in the area at least another year.  Mitchell was very busy with work and his calling that week too so Eli and I took that time and used it to plan for father’s day coming up here on Sunday, we want to really do something special and show him how grateful we are for his sacrifices!

Eli and I went to the park and on walks to keep ourselves busy. We did a little craft, we made a noise maker we decorated an old toilet paper roll and filled it with rice and beans. Eli loved it and it was great fun to watch him play with the small grains of rice and try to eat the dry beans.  We also did a play date with another little boy named James who is just a two months younger then Eli. It was so much fun! Eli was a very good host he showed James all around the house and shared his toys, I was so proud of him!

Outdoor excursions

This week was a fun one Mitchell didn’t have much work because it was all half days and vacation days so we had a lot of time to take Eli to the park and play tennis. It was so much fun to spend so much time together. We Bought Eli a little wading pool and wow is that a cool new thing or what! I will mostly just put up pictures to show you how fun it’s been and how big Eli is getting. Eli loves to dance, no really, any music or even just someone singing inspires him to move. He is taught I am sure by his uncles who love music and dancing. He kicks his feet and stomps and moves in a circle and pumps his arms. It’s a Party! We have been turning on the music at night and having dance offs and yesterday right in the middle of what Eli found to be a great dancing song out power went out! Bummer! L The power was out from before seven to around one in the morning. After we looked for a long time out the window explaining what a storm was to Eli. We got him to sleep and Mitch and I played Ticket to ride. It was not the evening we had planned but it was a very fun night of no electricity, I am so grateful to live in the time we live in!

Mitchell had a job interview yesterday, progress! I am so proud of him and how hard he works to take such good care of our family! He does so much to help around the house and he is the best most understanding husband anyone could ever hope for. He is definitely a great daddy he is the favorite which is fine with me he is my favorite too! Eli and I will really miss him during the days as he teaches summer school.

I am going to be helping Michael with his Eagle Scout project this 3rd of July it’s a blood drive, and although I can’t donate blood because I am expecting I am so excited to help with such a good cause apparently they are in a high needs status so they really need blood! It is exciting to have my brother being a great citizen. I will be a recruiter person getting people to sing up and commit to donating blood, anyone in the area that wants to donate should definitely do so!
Eli loves to play with the tonka trucks at Grandma and Grandpas House. He pushes them around like a lawn mower

We had some strawberries at Grandmas house and they were yummy

we went to Wilsons pond.I worked a little bit on a few projects incluing baking the book shelves and painting a few refurbished picture frames and vases.
