Sun Valley Trip 2015 – Day 3

Friday:
One thing is for sure- it has been a great vacation.

The next morning we got up late and prepared to check out.
After check out we walked around the shops and resort before we headed out on the trails to explore. We went several miles up the road and had a great time- at 2 points I ventured onto gravel/ dirt paths but each time the path narrowed to the point that the stroller could not handle so I turned back to the main trail. We had a great time! That was a favorite thing- the views! *sigh* I was definitely being a West because I kept telling the kids we would head back after the next hill or trail head….but didn't. LOL.

Finally Mr. called on his lunch break and we RAN back to meet up with him. Then we explored the golf course and found lunch.
After lunch we played around at the toy store (for a few hours cough cough), and went on a drive in the Sawtooth National Forest.
At the Sun Valley Toy Store- Oh so fun we spent hours here! (the bath tub pic was later-obviously not at the store)
The kids and I found a parking spot at the resort and took a cat nap.
The original plan was for the Mr. to finish everything for the conference and then we would walk around some more- maybe hike- and then go out to dinner at a nice restaurant, but the kids where still asleep in the car when the Mr. got done at 4 so we just decided to head home.
We stopped at Mt home – just in time for kayden to be sick- and other then those we just drove straight through. We got home a little after 8pm and we stayed up doing laundry, and watching a movie.
We had a great trip!

Sun Valley Trip 2015- Day 2

Thursday:
The Mr. and I woke up early this morning and spent some sweetheart time together-the kids where in a bed in the other room- it was perfect.
We went on a beautiful walk/hike. One of the fun things about expensive (snobby) places like this is that the sidewalks are all cobble stoned and pretty and the trails are kept up really nicely so I can take the stroller pretty much everywhere!
Also is snowed today… several times. Idaho weather is so weird; if I wasn’t from Idaho I would probably be more… surprised or annoyed. Either way. It is sunny and nice in between snow storms.

Around Lunch we swung by this sweet bakery for treats. They had the prettiest swan cream puffs- one came home with me. Also they gave the kids and me a cookies decorating kit for free! They said they decided we were the lucky winners- SO NICE! The kids loved it. We went back the apartment and decorated our cookie hearts out during the next little snowstorm. It really was perfect! Thank you to them!

Also we stopped by the Candy Shoppe and I spent too much money on candies. They make all of their candy coins right there in Sun Valley and Foil wrap them by hand!

And last but certainly not least, the Toy Store, first of all the lady who owns it is really sweet and second of all it is adorable –like all the shops- but most importantly it has the coolest toys! Oh if I had all the money in the world I would probably by up the whole store- my kids played there 2 times Thursday alone.
I spent $40 of my $60 play money in that toy store. I got the kids a Green Toy tug boat- They have an airplane by that brand and it has really held up- also it is green and all that good stuff. I also got them one of those cool wooden push toys by Hape. *I did not pick out the toys- I let the kids-because I am a great mom that way.
So Thursday night we went ahead and hang out at the apartment while the Mr. went to an evening work dinner- apparently it was at a very high class restaurant- I made him tell me all about it. The kids and I just made use of the Kitchen and watched TV- it was actually kind of fun. After the Mr. got back we all went swimming again! Then we stayed up watching Big Hero 6- Mr. bought the movie for the trip.

Sun Valley Trip 2015- Day 1

Warning this is a Long post!

Day 1-

Wednesday
WE are here in Sun Valley.
It is just as beautiful as I remember it being last year.
This year is even better. Instead of a nice room- and last year we had a very nice room- we have an apartment at the resort. I will probably be  wanting this kitchen- small as it is- forever because it is not only beautiful but super functional!

Wow it is nice!

Wednesday night after we had dinner (more on that later) we went swimming. I might have talked about that last year, but really, amazing.
The pool is heated- like hot- hot bath temp (not quite hot tub), and it is outside, round, and has walls up around it to protect from the wind but the walls are basically huge beautiful window panes with gorgeous wrought iron lanterns every 8 feet. The resort has a magical view of the surrounding mountains and trees all over the place. It is so beautiful. Swimming at night –in the rain/snow- with trees and mountains and romantic lighting, the steam rising off the water of the pool so thick that you can’t see the other people… It was a favorite thing ever. It felt like it was just us and the rain/snow was icy cold falling down on us, and the sky was dark and cloudy and the mountains and everything. *sigh*
obviously this is a picture of the pool during the day, from outside, because ya there is no way i could have captured the awesomeness at night, with no camera, he he.

Oh and by the way- the “locker rooms” are so not the YMCA they are carpeted-with the heavy good stuff and everything is lush dark wood and marble and mirrored and beautiful.  It was an eye opener to me- like this is how “the other half” live.
Moving on, aside from the views and the swimming and the amazing facility’s Sun Valley and Ketchum (the small rich town next door) have adorable shops.
So I have really been enjoying the food.

We began out trip at a sweet restaurant called Rico's- they had delicious bread sticks- traditional Italian style- and the food was really good- but what I will always remember and probably crave when I am pregnant are the cannolis. So.Good.
