Christmas this year was so magical, the kids are at the perfect age to enjoy it and fully be in wonder of all the magic of this time of year. The Christmas lights and carols, the decorations and excitement... It really was special.
We did so many fun things leading up to Christmas day but I will save them for another post right now I will focus on the day itself.
In the morning the kids slept in until about 9- which is pretty darn special and unusual. They first saw the little blue tree in there room, I (Santa) had decorated it with candy canes and a toy airplane and set up the Russian nesting dolls underneath with some oranges. Then we headed down stairs to see the tree.
They where SOOOO excited, it was so cute they loved everything, they saw with joy that Santa had eaten all of the cookies they had decorated the day before and even left a little letter- like he does every year ;).
We opened stocking with great joy and then ate the cinnamon rolls I had baked the night before. While the sausages and eggs cooked we opened more gifts. It was just so fun to see them be so excited about the gifts they got.
We took our time.
I wish I had had my camera out more but at the same time I was glad I stayed in the moment. I got really spoiled this year, I guess we all did.
The kids got a lot of gifts that they can share a Mario cart race track a shopping cart toy, a big knights castle, E got an RC car for toddlers and K got a huge play-dough set. we also got a few little bath toys, a wheres waldo book and clothes. Daddy got some Wii games, clothes and a fancy expensive flying drone. mom got tons and gobs of lotion some kitchen stuff , earrings, a fancy coloring book, a movie and Clinique face care system.
This year I did not do anything homemade, I usually try to do at least one things but this year it was best not to strain myself.
It was just great.
After all the excitement we headed to my parents house for more Christmas festivities. The siblings and cousins exchanged gifts and grandma and grandpa gave gifts too. This year they where very generous with us. Each boy got a fancy Lego set really cute ones (camping and a farm set), several hardback books, socks, and everyone got lots of goodies from hickory Farms. Thank you MOM and DAD!
We all played games the afternoon and ate an amazing delicious dinner complete with lots of sparkling cider. I am really regretting not getting a picture of all of us at the tables but believe me everything was yummy and beautiful!
