SO recently I read the original story "the House at
Pooh Corner by A.A. Milne out loud to the boys. Eli began to really get into it
although I still don't think K is quite at that age. It was the first chapter
book I have read out loud to the kids since Eli was about 4 months or so when I
read out loud several of the Anne of Green Gables books as well as the fabulous
"Tom Sawyer".
Since the reading of that book we have watched every Winnie
the Pooh movie ever made (I think) and Eli has decided to be "Winnie
the pooh bear" for Halloween.
He is so cute!
Also I have been doing a ridiculous amount of reading (and I
has been So nice) several of the books have been about food/life/ and
nutrition. (Whole, the China Study, Bread and Wine, The School of Essential Ingredients,
Notes from a Blue Bike, and a recipe book or two…) any how.
I think I might becoming a foodie (that’s a slang term I learned
in my recent readings, although most of the food obsessed authors I was reading
seem to prefer not to be called that, I assume this is because to be really
interested in gourmet food you seem to have to have a degree of class…)
(noun (pl)
ies a person having an enthusiastic interest in the preparation and consumption of good food- Collins English Dictionary - Complete & Unabridged 2012
Digital Edition)
Anyway. I have always liked cooking (baking desserts especially)
and recently this great love of cooking has only grown- really the last year or
two… so if you see me and I start telling you about the latest dish I made just
smile and nod.
Also I made Bees wax candles recently. Total game changer.
For real. I don’t think I can ever go back to those other things called
candles. They are so beautiful and subtle smelling and they burn beautifully.
