Halloween 2014

Unfortunately we all got sick last week. Also last week our furnace went out. All I can say is it’s a good thing we have a fireplace. I baked a ton (like even more than usual) to keep the house a bit warmer and since the kids where sick anyways I let them lay in the living room by the fire and watch TV pretty much all week. The kids got much better and by Friday they were ready and rearin to go (except K has a runny nose-still) but on Thursday night it hit me. Hard, I had a migraine all day Friday- to all the rest of you who get migraines let me just say for all of us ouch (but please say it quietly and turn off the light).
E picked this flower for me hoping it would make me better-sweet little guy!

Moms always get hit with whatever sickness it is toward the end of everyone else. So I drank water constantly and "rested" as much as a mom can during a holiday.
I canceled all my fun Halloween plans due to the fever/migraine. So on Thursday night we did not make caramel apples or have our little Halloween spooky party. And on Friday we did not have friends over and I did not make donuts or my favorite cinnamon rolls. We did not decorate the house with cute tissue paper ghosts or anything. I felt pretty sorry for myself over the canceled plans. Fortunately the kids are young enough that they did not really notice.
Presenting: Winnie the Pooh

He would NOT wear the dinosaur hat part but he is still a cute little guy!

I did watch Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin (that is necessary!) with them. I made homemade apple pie -okay so I kind of cheated and got a can of filling from my mom- but its homemade they can it themselves so I count it- and we carved pumpkins.

Overall it was still a great Halloween. It’s a hard holiday to ruin really it’s so full of fun!
So Mitchell did a lot on Halloween he took the kids out to all the fun things and I stayed home and took some medicine and then very slowly cleaned the living room and made the pie and some Herbal Tea.
Fireplace and lighting candles and apple pie turned out to be enough for me and at the end of the night M and I lay by the fire with the lights out watching old movies.

The kids are all better now but I am still recuperating I sound like a toad today and am sitting here at my desk waiting for the furnace repair man to get here.
