Day 1-
Wednesday
WE are here in Sun Valley.
It is just as beautiful as I remember it being last year.
This year is even better. Instead of a nice room- and last
year we had a very nice room- we have an apartment at the resort. I will probably be wanting this kitchen- small as it is- forever because it is not only beautiful but super functional!
Wow it is nice!
Wednesday night after we had dinner (more on that later) we
went swimming. I might have talked about that last year, but really, amazing.
The pool is heated- like hot- hot bath temp (not quite hot tub), and it is
outside, round, and has walls up around it to protect from the wind but the walls are basically huge beautiful window panes with gorgeous wrought iron lanterns
every 8 feet. The resort has a magical view of the surrounding mountains and
trees all over the place. It is so beautiful. Swimming at night –in the
rain/snow- with trees and mountains and romantic lighting, the steam rising off
the water of the pool so thick that you can’t see the other people… It was a
favorite thing ever. It felt like it was just us and the rain/snow was icy cold falling down on us, and the sky was dark and cloudy and the mountains and everything. *sigh*
| obviously this is a picture of the pool during the day, from outside, because ya there is no way i could have captured the awesomeness at night, with no camera, he he. |
Oh and
by the way- the “locker rooms” are so not the YMCA they are carpeted-with the
heavy good stuff and everything is lush dark wood and marble and mirrored and
beautiful. It was an eye opener to me-
like this is how “the other half” live.
Moving on, aside from the views and the swimming and the
amazing facility’s Sun Valley and Ketchum (the small rich town next door) have
adorable shops.
So I have really been enjoying the food.
