The reason I begged my Mom to go with me to lowes last night.

Its also the reason I went to 2 different Walmart's, one at 10 last night and one this morning.

Reason= Laundry room.

I could not find a before picture of the Laundry room and anyone who saw it in person knows why. There is no person anywhere that wanted to see it. Unfortunately most people did, because the floor was so full of laundry baskets that the door could not close.
I found this picture from when we first moved in.

You know how these things can go, 10 inches across the wall left open with 5-6 inces on all sides of the washer/dryer. every sock in the house has a mate that fell behind the washer or dryer all your other item fall down the sides that are two deep for you to reach.
It was a nightmare. Don't get me wrong I LOVE my washer and dryer but the laundry hall (its a pass through room to the garage) was not a part of the house I liked.
Finally a few months ago I figured out what to do.
All I needed was a counter top in that laundry room; and all my problems would be solved....
except I could not afford to buy a counter top.
So I thought on in an figured it out. I just needed some plywood cut to the right size and I could cover it like I did the the ugly Walmart desk.
So yesterday I asked my mom to go to lowes with me because 1st she is awesome! and 2nd she had access to my dads truck.
SO here is the improved upon laundry room with a fake counter top!
I put down the grippy soft padding that goes under rugs between the washer/dryer and the "counter top"
Someday Mitchel can install it more properly but for a really simple fix this works great.
Getting it in the space was tricky since I measured a really tight measurement, at one point I sat down and got a bit upset but Then my husband  (they call him Mr. HIll)   fixed it for me (as per usual) and now I am all smiles.
We (Hunkcules) also built the white upper shelf  (because he is an understanding husband)

The Laundry basket was on clearance at Marshall's
The basket was from World Market
The bulletin board was homemade
the small rectangular Rag basket was from a Christmas gift basket a few years back.

Hopefully soon I can repaint the cupboard and walls!
Also  Coming soon a summary of all the delicious desserts I ate this week when I should have been on a diet.
