Books I've been reading

Recently I have definitely been keeping busy with many different goals I have set for myself, and taking care of Eli etc. I realized a few weeks ago I was missing reading so I went to the library with my mom and got some books, several of them are about childcare and getting toddlers and older babies to sleep. Most of which had some excellent points, but I am not going to bother writing down more about them because I am sure any library has a good selection, and none of them really stood out as fabulous. As some of you know I love to learn about relationships within families; since I studied it in school I have several books already on my bookshelf but I also have a list of some that were recommended as additional readings, to be read with discernment, as always. One of the titles in particular never held much interest for me until I recently saw in on the bookshelf of a family friend. There it was "The Proper care and feeding of Husbands" and the sister book “...care and feeding of marriage" so I decided to read them. (I must say they are definitely not the favorite marriage books I have ever read). A lot of the book is her quoting her radio callers and commenting on it, usually not so nice. But I found the book to be overall quite interesting a good eye opener you could say. It talks a lot about the effect of feminism on everyday people. Little things we do or see in the media that we don’t notice but kinda have a Down-on-men attitude. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to read a book directed solely to women. The Second book “The proper care and feeding of marriage” I have not enjoyed even as much as the "Proper care and feeding of husbands", I feel like it is repetitive and not quite as helpful as it could be but it is definitely a good read.
Reading these books really got me thinking about the books I do love so I thought I would list them here for anyone who is interested. I always like to have a personal recommendation to read books, its nicer when you know the person telling you to read it. I will say all of these book where reading requirements for classes I took in collage or on additional reading lists so you should find that they have at least a few good insights.

Eli is adorable he gets into everything and does his best to keep me on my toes. He loves to Play hide and seek with his toys, its pretty fun to see how proud of himself he is when he finds them under the blanket or behind the pillow. It really cute since he watches me put them there in the first place!

  1. The 5 Love Languages is one of our favorite books. I think that if you could only read one marriage book or one parenting book, it would suffice for both. When you apply the love languages to your children, as well as your spouse, the results are equally amazing.

We love having you live here. I just need to tell you that. It's so fun watching your little family and getting to know Mitchell we just adore Eli!
