the 4th!

The forth of july was a fun day for us at the HIll household!

that mornign We had my brother watch the kids for a short while, we worked outside on the house and then went for a drive with  the kids to pick up some fireworks!

For lunch we went on a picnic out to lake Lowell, it was the PERFECT weather! Not too hot light breeze. The kids had fun wading in the water and playing on the grass. Mitchell did all the food for the picnic except the bread which I , of course, made. It was delicious! Eli kept dumping his juice into the Tupperware that had grape in it and then trying to take a drink without grapes bumping him, it was so funny! Kayden was amazing very contented and happy.
We also had a tender mercy, quiet a blessing. I took Eli to the car to change his pants but when I got there I had the wrong diaper size so I walked all the way back to the picnic blanket and then Mitchell and I switched kids, I took kayden to feed him and Mitch took Eli to change, in the rush of trying to get diaper and kaydens bottle from the car and then changing Eli’s diaper… we locked the keys in the car. To really understand our stress I will confess that I put my key on the top of the car last year and drove of with Mitchell thus losing my car keys, I was pregnant at the time in my defense. So we only had Mitchells keys and there they where sitting on the back seat of the car next to the diaper bag. While I sat staring at the key through the window Mitch decided to try the trunk, even though you usually have to really work it to open it even with the keys, and guess what. It open for us! All we had to do was get to the back seat now. I always remembered when I  was little that we could get to our sleepover stuff in grandmas trunk (we have that car now) from inside the moving car by pulling a latch on the back of the seat. So we looked around and sure enough they is a “safety” button for if you get locked in the trunk, that you can push and it lets you into the back seat. It was such a blessing the whole thing didn’t take long at all to fix and we were able to continue our relaxing afternoon stress free! The Lord truly blessed us!
I am also grateful that I have a husband who is patient. Way back last year when I lost my keys he teased me quite a bit but he never yelled or was mean or angry about it in any way, and the keys being locked  in the car was no different he didn’t yell or freak out I doubt anyone, even our kids even thought anything was wrong. Its so nice to be married to someone who can be cheerful when the car breaks down on the side of the highway (yes, that has happened) and be chill when the keys are locked in the car. I love you Mitchell man

that night we had a big BBQ at my parents and my relatives from the sunny state of California came! Everyone had alot of fun talking and relaxing.
After most everyone left we lit off the fireworks (i lit on eoff for the first time in my life) and i got some great vidios, as soon as the fist one went off Kayden, my tenderhearts boy, started screaming. That got eli feelign like he should cry too but he was really fine :)
After the fireworks we headed home and put the kiddos to bed. Then we had a long night of comforting Children when the big BOOM's would sound of in thte air.
We had the absolute best view of firewoks, truly, we could lay in our bed and just look out the window and see tons of fireworks lightign up the sky.
Our neighbor hood and those around us had also of big ones. In the state of Idaho you can buy the big fireworks your just not supposed to light them off, not with out permits and blah balah blah. When you buy them they have you sign a wavier to say you wont light them off, basically everyone i knows has one spouse buy them and the other lite them. :) So basically everyone buys as many as they want and uses all night. We had a fabulous show. I even convinced Mitchell to take me in the backyard and dance with me under the fireworks. I loved it, made me feel like watching Sabrina. He was very nice about it.
