Eli's Birthday

Well the day was a good one!
We started our day as we do for all birthdays. I decorate the night before so that when they wake up they see the kitchen all decorated and their gifts piled high. We wait to open the gifts until after dinner but the anticipation begins in the morning!

Aunt Jessica Called Eli first thing to wish him a very happy Birthday! They had a pretty long conversation that I did not hear but Eli seemed to be really talking. -Thanks for calling him Ant Jessica!

We rushed to get ready for the Preschool field trip to Babby Farms. We were running a bit late. In the End we drove all the way out there- (it’s a 50 min drive) and -no Bueno- the field trip was canceled.
Yikes!
The kids where devastated.
We went to Great Grandpa and Grandmas house instead of the field trip, since they live very close to Babby Farms.

We played for a long time until we headed home at nap time. When I got close the freeway and saw cars backed up past the on ramp I knew there was trouble.
2 hours later.
We got home.
I was feeling fine but really drowsy which I never a good way to feel with kids in the car so I was relived to get out of the car.
Kayden had fallen asleep so he got put in his bed, but Eli was awake so he helped me make his Birthday cake. We made Gluten Free sponge cake with a cream cheese filling layer and some strawberries on top. Yum.
While the cake cooled Eli and I watered the garden flowers. Eli is very good at taking care of things!

After the watering was done it was time to get going on the homemade strawberry ice cream. Not to brag but it was really really good...I wonder if all the CREAM had something to do with that. LOL. I had looked at recipes a few times and decided that I would just do it my own way. Too many of the recipes I had seen had what seemed like a ridiculous amount of sugar (3 cups! WHAAAT?) . I was a bit worried as to how it would turn out but it was really good! My dad gave it a stamp of approval- he is a homemade ice cream pro!

Around the time I was almost done with eh ice cream mix Mitchell got home with the ice for the machine (we got and ice cream maker!!!) and surprise balloons for Eli!

We like to let the birthday boy decide what they want for dinner and Eli choose hamburgers. Hamburgers where made on the grill and we played outside.

Grandpa and Grandma and uncle Joseph came over to help us celebrate!

Eli got a doctors kit for his Birthday and is still playing with it this morning!

Happy Birthday Eli!!! I can't believe you are 4! This will be a great year!
